Change the date format
Look at the default date format and see if it suits you. You might want to change it to suit you better. Make sure that “anyone can register” is unchecked. This is the default though but you have to make sure.

Set your homepage
You may want visitors to your site to see your blog posts when they arrive, then select “front page display your latest posts”.
In the other hand, if you are setting up a website that has no blog or with an integrated blog, then select “front page display a static page” and select the page you want to use as your HOMEPAGE from the drop-down list of your published pages. Save your changes for it to take effect.
You need to create and publish a page you want to use as homepage first. If not, you wont see the page.
Set how your posts will appear
Click the “for each article in a feed” and set it to SUMMARY if you are creating a blog. Select otherwise if you like.

Change your default permalinks

Fill up details about you
Here s where you fill up details about you, how your name will appear in your posts and comments in your website or blog.
Enter the name you will want a visitor to your site see in “Display name publicly as”. Choose a nickname and other information required such as; First name and Last name.
Hurray! You are now set to go!
But there is a little more you will do.
Why not delete the default page and post with the corresponding comments that come with it and create your own.
After all, you are unique and ought to show your uniqueness.
To do this,
Just head straight to posts. Click all posts, and select the default post. It is normally “Hello World”. Click move to trash, then click apply to delete it.
Also do the same to default pages by clicking pages, all pages, then select the default page. Click move to trash, then click apply to delete it.
